Cleaning Your
WindTrimmer
Cleaning your new
WindTrimmer is
easy. Wash it
with a clean, nonabrasive, non-contaminating cloth, mild soap or
nonabrasive detergent, with plenty of lukewarm water. Use only light
pressure when cleaning. If the surface is exceptionally dirty or
gritty, "rinse" the surface first by lightly swabbing a saturated
cloth over the surface and allowing surfactants to drain away. Avoid
rubbing dirt or grit into the surface. Turn the cloth often and
replace with a clean cloth frequently.
If grease, tar or oil gets
on your WindTrimmer, it can be easily removed with
hexane or kerosene. Make sure you work outdoors or in a
well-ventilated area.
Any solvent residue should be removed by washing immediately,
as above.
Do not use window-cleaning sprays, alcohol, kitchen
scouring compounds, acetone, gasoline, benzene, gasoline, carbon
tetrachloride or lacquer thinner. Do not use ammonia based cleaning
solutions on the acrylic as it will eat into the sheet and cause it
to craze.
Dry by blotting gently with a clean,
soft, dry cloth or chamois
Static electricity can attract dust to
acrylic sheet. To reduce it, use an anti-static
cleaner.
How do you get scratches
out of your WindTrimmer?
For light
scratches, use a light rubbing compound such as you might use
on fresh paint. Very gently, lightly buff the sheet until scratches
disappear.
